Web Design Guidelines

Developer Tools B rating License: MIT (repository README, rev 063bee9)

Vercel's interface-guideline review skill checks specified page source for accessibility, form labels, keyboard focus, images, animation and interaction issues, returning files and line numbers. The skill is documentation, but defaults to fetching the latest remote main-branch rules on every review. Pinning the installation does not pin those rules. Use it for read-only source review first, not as a replacement for browser or assistive-technology testing.

Usage instructions

The download is the complete repository ZIP at pinned commit 063bee94c3f4df8453406c830b0a7df0f2860278; install only skills/web-design-guidelines. The repository README declares MIT. A LICENSE in the separate rules repository should not be presented as this skill's own license file.

  1. Place the directory in .claude/skills/web-design-guidelines/ in a Claude Code project and read SKILL.md. For other hosts, verify skill loading and support for fetching page text separately.
  2. Specify the files first, for example: “Read-only review of form labels, keyboard operation and error messages in resources/views/site/submit.blade.php. List files, lines and suggestions. Do not submit forms or edit code.”
  3. The default rules URL is https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vercel-labs/web-interface-guidelines/main/command.md. Read its content before first use. For reproducible reviews, change your own copy to the audited command.md at commit 434b7f91364665f2f733b310ec54809bf8f37937 and record that local change.
  4. Approve fixes only after checking applicability. Recheck using a keyboard, different viewport widths and a real browser. Passing a checklist is not accessibility certification.

Safety review

Rating B is this site's static editorial assessment, not certification. Review covered the skill instructions and the current remote-rule snapshot; the online review workflow was not executed and no business files were edited. The main risks are changing remote instructions and the agent's file permissions, rather than standalone scripts in this directory.

  • Main-branch content may change on every fetch. Even with a pinned skill ZIP, recheck the rule source and content for untrusted instructions.
  • Permit reading only specified source files. Do not upload .env files, credentials, customer information or an entire private repository. The host may send code context to a model service.
  • Require read-only operation by default, without real-account actions or production form submissions. If code changes are approved, retain diffs and perform human acceptance checks.
